An expedition-grade Himalayan crossover trek from the Parvati Valley (Kullu) to the Pin Valley (Spiti), over the Pin Parvati Pass (approx. 17,450 ft / 5,319 m). Roughly 100-110 km of trekking with a dramatic transition from lush green valleys to the barren cold desert of Spiti, via Kheerganga, Tunda Bhuj and Mantalai Lake, with a major glacier crossing. Very difficult grade; best attempted July to September.
Day 1
Arrive at Kasol/Barshaini, the trek's starting point.
Day 2
Trek to Kheerganga, known for its natural hot springs.
Day 3
Trek through forest and meadow trail to Tunda Bhuj.
Day 4
Trek onward to Thakur Kuan.
Day 5
Trek to Odi Thach.
Day 6
Trek to Mantalai Lake, the source of the Parvati River.
Day 7
Rest and acclimatize at Mantalai Lake.
Day 8
Trek to the base camp below Pin Parvati Pass.
Day 9
Summit day: cross the Pin Parvati Pass (approx. 17,450 ft) and descend to Base Camp 2 on the Spiti side.
Day 10
Trek down to Tiya village in Pin Valley.
Day 11
Trek to Mudh Village and drive to Kaza.
